Hi, I am Mrs Hardwick, I work in our Breakfast Club. We welcome all children from Receptiontion to Year 6.
We have lots of activities – board games, craft activities and television to name a few! I encourage all the children to make friends with everyone, the Reception children love playing games with the older children and the older children love caring for the reception and infant children.
It is a good opportunity for the infant reception and infant children to make friends with the junior children, as they do not have many opportunities to see them throughout the day. This way it alleviates any fears they may have of the older children and recognise a friendly face around school.
All the children are kept with me until 8:50 am when I accompany all the children into school. I personally take the Reception children to their classroom and hand them over to a member of staff.
If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact me at school

Congratulations to all the children from the Breakfast Club who have been extremely well behaved during the first disruptive week, they all line up after the Breakfast Club and wear their yellow jackets with pride, as we all walk along our new footway onto the new playground safely, then enter the school in an orderly manner. The children questioned why they have to wear the jackets and I explained to them that it was for their safety, so I was able to distinguish between the other children on the playground and count them into school. No-one has complained about this-only at the size
some of older juniors wear them over their shoulders.
Have a great Easter break, see you all in two weeks.
Can I just say thank you for the Easter chocolate presents – I love them!!

Hi,
as from Tuesday 16th March the entrance to the Breakfast Club will be through the side gate off Aintree Lane, (on the plan on the back of the newsletter – Summer Fair Gate), then escort your child / children across the School Car Park on Aintree Lane to the lunch room doors, I will be waiting there for your children. ALL your children will be escorted into school by myself, I will give each child a coloured band and we will walk into school together. This morning we tried our new way of walking together as a team, all the juniors partnered with an infant and their coloured bands on display, we walked very successfully into school. I was very proud of the way the children behaved in the line. You can be proud of them to. If there are any questions you may wish to speak to me about, please do not hesitate to contact me. PLEASE LET ME ASSURE YOU THAT YOUR CHILD / CHILDRENS SAFETY IS VERY IMPORTANT TO ME.

Our view from the breakfast club window is lovely, the playground is all white!
Can I remind all the children who come to the Club to enter school through the main entrance and staff car park. Just ring the bell and one of our friendly Admin staff will let you in, then walk down the corridor to a warm room with lots of games, warm food and tv.
See you there!

This week we have started creating pictures with an Autumn theme, the children have enjoyed choosing various colours related to Autumn. It has been a bit chilly this week, hopefully it will warm up soon.
Take care, Mrs Hardwick

You will be glad to hear that our new equipment has been delivered to the school. Many thanks to the Friends of Davenhill who gave us £50.00 to buy new pens, glue and quite a bit of craft materials to make various objects. Look forwad to seeing you all after half-term.

Congratulations go to Emma Convey and Melissa Quirk who drew the winning posters in our Keep Healthy Poster competition. Miss Clarke, kindly chose the winners. All the posters are displayed in the main corridor (by the photo-copier room), they look fantastic and really brighten up the corridor. Watch out for the next competition!! Enjoy the half-term, Mrs Hardwick
